Security is almost always a hot topic at any Joomla! event we attend, and judging by the number of hacked websites we're seeing, it's something that not many people take particularly seriously. This presentation was given at a Joomla! User Group Suffolk meeting and while it was aimed at entry-level Joomla! users, it contains content applicable to all.

Template overrides are now being very widely used in some of the better produced templates, but do you really understand how they work? Have you got a clue what the MVC concept is all about? This presentation was delivered by Matt Meyrick at a meeting of the Joomla! User Group Suffolk. With the imminent release of the 1.6 branch of Joomla! there is a mad rush to ensure that all sites are running 1.5.x native as 1.0.x to 1.6.x will not be a supported upgrade (not to mention that 1.0.x is no longer being developed, and it's rather challenging to find extensions any more!
